If positive energy and love for music had an afro and a first name, it would be La Fuente.
Born and raised in The Netherlands, La Fuente learned about electronic music at an early age. After dozens of national gigs, he started touring in other countries too. Now, after performing and entertaining for more than 14 years on national and international stages, La Fuente's gig list stretches almost the whole planet.
Last year La Fuente pushed his limits. With 300 shows he traveled the world and left behind a great trail of club and festival sets that have captured the hearts and souls of the fans. During the festival season this summer he did 55 show and took 60 filght in 50 days. People in the US, Ibiza, Vietnam, Italy, Curacao, Germany, Kazakhstan and England were amongst the lucky people that experienced his energetic performances.
La Fuente has a very unique sound: House music at it's best - Soulful, energetic and uplifting. His excellent knowledge about the current wave of dance music, his fearless attitude when it comes to experimenting with new records and mixing styles way before his competition does has definitely paid off! This DJ is a true artist, always bringing an amazing vibe to the stage and tearing the roof apart every single time – this might explain why promoters all over the world love him so much.
La Fuente has proven to be an accomplished producer to the experts and DJ colleagues over and over again.
His records are described as ‘they were created for maximum dance floor impact.’ His hit 'Bang Bang', which was released on Laidback Luke's Mixmash imprint, has become a true classic. It received massive support by Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Diplo, A-Track, Hardwell and of course Laidback Luke himself!
Another successfull release out of La Fuente’s kitchen, called Dounia (signed to Spinnin' Records), received early support from Hardwell and Thomas Gold and his latest tune 'Fancy Fair' jammed it's way up to the top 10 position in the Beatport Chart.
Add 'Buzzing' (signed to MixMash) to that list and spice it up with the international hit 'Matador' and VIBE magazine naming La Fuente as one of the '50 Under The Radar Artists You Should Listen To (Right Now!)' – La Fuente’s list of achievements accumulates.
La Fuente's radioshow 'Full Colour' , that airs monthly, the versatile DJ explores his creativity by picking a colour to use as basis for the show's vibe. Every show brings another colour and mood. Additionally, the Full Colour podcast has earned a solid spot in the Itunes Top 10 every month.
With new releases scheduled on both Spinnin' Records and Sander van Doorn’s imprint DOORN records and gigs scheduled at the most wanted stages, La Fuente’s future looks brighter than ever!
What started as a way of exploring the gap between Hip Hop and EDM turned out to be a successful concept at the night club Jimmy Woo in Amsterdam and developed into one of the most surprisingly refreshing DJ projects the world has seen in a while. A big part of the Yellow Claw success are their all round trademark skills, interaction with the audience, their music video’s, a clothing line, their own record label and a sound that crosses boundaries and mixes up genres.
With several hits in the Dutch Top 40 and a number one ranking with their remix of Major Lazer’s ‘Jah No Partial’ on Hype Machine they were set to conquer the rest of the world. Yellow Claw’s humongous number of followers on Soundcloud, 250K, and their track give-aways have led into two EP releases on Mad Decent and one EP release on Steve Aoki’s label Dim Mak. Beside these successful EP releases they released several singles on Spinnin’ Records including ‘Shotgun’ which raised over 40 million views within a year and gained the gold status. Quite some impressive collabs with their favorite artists followed, they have worked with Diplo, DJ Snake, Flosstradamus and Skrillex, just to name a few. Yellow Claw also produced several official remixes for artists such as Martin Garrix, Tiësto, Showtek and Iggy Azalea.
The past twelve months Yellow Claw toured all around the globe, playing primetime gigs on the biggest stages like EDC Vegas, Tomorrowland and mainstage Mysteryland. In between this exploding gig schedule they also managed to set up their own highly popular clothing line in cooperation with streetwear label Daily Paper, ‘Blood for Mercy’. In May 2014, they inaugurated their own record label, called Barong Family. Playing alongside Diplo and Skrillex at Madison Square Garden on New Year’s Eve has probably been the best way to end 2014.
With that being said, 2015 will definitely turn out even more successful with a highly anticipated album scheduled and lots of tours and festivals already confirmed.
